The First Ever Marathon on Pitcairn Island

Pitcairn Island will host its inaugural running marathon on July 17, 2026 — a milestone event on one of the most remote inhabited islands in the world. The course is a lap format, designed to be accessible to runners and walkers of all abilities, with no time limit.


The 2026 field is full, with 12 international runners representing 6 countries making the extraordinary voyage to compete. Shorter distances are also available for local Pitcairn Island residents, free of charge. All finishers receive a medal, a runner's t-shirt, and a finisher certificate.

Via Mangareva, French Polynesia
Fly to Mangareva via Air Tahiti, then board the MV Silver Supporter for the voyage to Pitcairn.
