Pitcairners Take Part in Global Mile 2025
On Friday November 14th, Deputy Governor Paul Greenhalgh hosted the Global Mile 2025. At 9:00 a.m., the community gathered at the starting point at the Hill of Difficulty to begin their milestone walk to Adamstown Square. The route was filled with laughter and conversation, making it a refreshing and uplifting way to start the morning and setting a positive tone for the day.
The FCDO held its Global Mile 2025 from Friday 14 to Saturday 15 November. For the past five years, posts around the world have come together to run, walk, cycle, or swim a mile. It remains one of the few events truly shared across the global network—from Apia to Vancouver.
In its first two years, the event helped bridge the isolation felt during pandemic lockdowns, linking countries and continents through a 24-hour sequential relay. There is no prize for finishing fastest or going furthest—the purpose is simply to bring everyone together.
